The Dilworths are back after a one year hiatus for their Sydney-Melbourne tour. Leader and Trumpeter Eamon Dilworth has spent the last 7 months performing around Europe performing in Vienna as a guest with violinist Nigel Kennedy at the famed Porgy and Bess club, Bucharest, Romania and Milan. During this period he had the opportunity to study and perform with Kenny Werner, Ferenc Nemeth and Dave Douglas at the Siena Jazz workshop in which he won a return Scholarship to the 2012 workshop.
The Dilworths are the brainchild of Australian, now London based trumpeter/composer Eamon Dilworth and began as an improvisational vehicle for Eamon's compositions. They have since evolved into one of Australia's freshest young groups finding the perfect balance of modern jazz influences, lending from American and European traditions while embracing the raw earthiness of their Australian roots. Since its inception the band has made performances at Wangarratta, Melbourne Fringe and Port Macquarie Jazz Festivals, Bennetts Lane, SIMA, COMA, 505 and Jazzgroove.
The Band features Karl Laskowski (Mike Nock, Ray Beadle), Hugh Barrett (Jazzgroove Mothership Orhcestra, The Beautiful Girls), Alex Boneham (James Muller, The Vampires) and Cameron Reid (James Valentine, Jane Irving)
In 2009 The Dilworths released their debut album entitled “Introducing The Dilworths” on Jazzgroove records and launched the CD with a highly successful gig at The Basement supported by the great pianist and educator Judy Bailey.
The band was nominated for the 2009 European Jazz Awards and features four James Morrison Generations in Jazz Finalists including one winner.
